Questions about the 1940 Indian Motorcycle
by Indian Owner
I have some questions about the 1940 Indian motorcycle. My father ran an Indian motorcycle dealership years but the dealership went out of business because he wanted to keep all of the inventory for himself. He amassed quite a collection and would have had more if the funds had allowed.
I also have an extensive a state of Indian motorcycles and parts from the 1940s era but I am not sure how to go about determining how to tell what year the motorcycles are and this is a problem!
Go here to see
lots of 1940 Indian motorcycles for sale by individual owners.
The particular bike that I have a question about is an Indian Chief that has a Harley side hack.
Does anyone know if the Indian motorcycles back in the 40s had titles (example: Scout or Chief)?
My problem is that I can find everything except the titles to these motorcycles even though my daddy was meticulous about keeping such records.
I desperately need help if anyone could please answer my questions about the
1940 Indian Motorcycle.
